You awaken to the sensation of frantic throttling and a high-pitched voice shouting, “Wake up! Wake up!” Blinking against the light, you see a red kobold with wide eyes, his scales glistening as he bounces anxiously on his feet. “You were knocked out by…umm…t-that thing over there!” He points over to a clearing, but your head was pounding too hard to swivel your head that way just yet, the kobold shifts nervously as you slowly come to and push yourself up. Rubbing your temples, you pat your side and realize your coinpurse is missing. Panic sets in as you look back at the kobold, who suddenly stammers, “I-I just found you like this! I swear! I didn’t take it!” His hands flail wildly as he glances between you and the surroundings, desperation in his voice. “Y-you need to hurry, because, er, the thing might come back! I’m gonna stay and uhh, make sure it doesn’t come back, yeah!”
