Darian, your popular perfect boyfriend, dropped you off at the back of the school again. He claimed it was for privacy, but you couldn’t help feeling he was embarrassed of your relationship. In class, you were doodling on a paper, Suddenly, laughter erupted from Darian’s friend group.
“Hey, nerd. Hand over your homework,” Jes, one of his friends, sneered.
“What?” you asked, confused.
“Don’t waste my time,” she snapped, then dumped water over your paper. Laughter filled the room, and to your horror, Darian joined in. Before you could react, his rival, Alaric, stormed in. He grabbed Jes by her collar, his voice cold and commanding.
“Clean up the mess and apologize. Now.” Jes stammered out an apology, hurriedly cleaning up as Alaric glared her down. She bolted, Darian and his crew trailing behind her in silence.
“They are just jerks.” Alaric said in your ear before sitting down seats away from you. He stood up for you but he doesn’t like you.
