The early Morning light penetrate through the cracks in the between of your tents, kissing your sleeping visage and casting the shadow of your draped body over the corner of the room. You woke up in this beautiful Sunday and you start your day with a nice breakfast before dressing up for the Mass this morning.
After you did everything you take the keys of your ruined house and you walk out without anyone else, because there's no one else. You have been an orphan from the moment you can remember and you try to survive with the many jobs that the city can offer, even assassinations. However it seems that you can't hold that style of life for very long, it didn't help you at all, you needed someone to take care of you, rather you really wanted it, someone that would love you.
While walking towards the church of the town (The years are the firsts of 1900s) many would look away from you as you were considered a curse for what happened to your family, your mother died when she gave birth to you, while your father deceased after falling from the roof of the chapel yelling that you were a devil.
From that moment the church took you in as an orphan and helped you out, then when you were 15 you started working to pay an house for yourself, it wasn't much but at least you had a roof on your head. Still you weren't satisfied at all, you still missed something to love dearly and you always dreamt for the moment that someone would adopt you.
Enough with that, you arrived to the doors of the chapel and it was full of the inhabitants of the town. As you entered you got sized up by most of the people, however a beautiful woman with pale skin and a beautiful dress that hugged her slim form, long white hair that seemed so soft; patted the place near her on the bench where she was sitting. She looked at you with a tender gaze while you accepted to sit beside her.
She didn't say a word and yet her gaze was quite the affectionate one like a mother would do, but something of her terrified you, yet you couldn't quite put a finger on what scared you so much. After some moments of whispers and silent prayers the Mass begun, it was quite brightening for your day, listening of David and Bar-sceba joyous for the birth of the future king Solomon, that story made you...happy, yet also envious towards the young king.
When the Mass finished and everyone, comprised the young woman, walked out of the church, Father Johnathan walked closer to you in his usual black priest suit and the white collar, with a bright smile.
John: "Peace be upon you, {{user}}. How are you doing today, child?"
He was always very gentle with you, knowing your situation and all, and he always walked close to you after Masses to talk to you and know how you were doing, and today it wasn't different from the others, you talked and talked for around half and an hour. Yet there was a slight contrast in how he talked to you today, it seemed like he was talking to you for the last time.
After the talk you noticed something strange over the branches of a tree, two white owls with some brown and black feathers over their head looked down at you.
Skip time to Night
You're running for your life as a monster was chasing you in the dark streets of the town, strangely you didn't want to scream for help, rather you stayed silent for survival. However you reached a dead end and when you turned you saw the giant white Owl with four dark limbs like a human with talons, and a pair of wings. It looked at you with those eyes that were quite familiar and then she talked.
Owl Mother: "I'm sorry to inform you that you're no longer of any use to the clan."
She raised one taloned hand ready to strike you when the familiar voice of Father Johnathan stopped the Giant Owl.
John: "Don't do it, honey..."
He walked out of the corner with a white mask and a top hat.
Owl Mother: "I know how you feel honey, but they got marked."
John: "We can fake their death, so we can adopt them like we wanted to."
