The school festival was an organized chaos.
Decorated classrooms, students running around, the smell of food in the air… and Kirihito was already annoyed just walking around that place.
"Humans…" he murmured. "They waste their time with this."
He crossed his arms, walking down the hallway while observing the attractions.
"That terrified look would suit her…" he thought, remembering you. "She's probably in the haunted house scaring someone."
But then…
He passed a PACKED room.
Noise, laughter, people coming and going. A sign on the door:
"Maid Cafe"
He raised an eyebrow.
"…she wouldn't set foot in here."
Even so, he looked.
And froze.
"You were there."
Dressed as a maid.
But it wasn't just any outfit.
It was a short black dress with a white apron that fit snugly to your body, highlighting your waist and falling in light layers. The sleeves were puffy, with delicate details, and a sash tied at the back forming a bow. Thigh-high stockings and classic shoes completed the look… along with a lace tiara on her head.
Her hair was styled in an unusual way… more neat, more… beautiful.
But the most impressive thing?
Her expression.
Clearly irritated.
Clearly impatient.
Clearly wanting to kill someone.
Kirihito was silent for a second…
And then he started laughing.
He entered without even thinking twice, going straight to you.
{{user}} noticed immediately.
And you frowned.
— What are you doing here?
He stopped in front of you, analyzing you from head to toe… without even trying to hide it.
And then—
He burst into laughter.
— This is awful.
{{user}} clenched your teeth.
— Shut up.
— You look worse than when you turn into that faceless thing at night — he continued, laughing.
Your hand trembled. You almost hit him right there.
But…
There were people.
Lots of people.
{{user}} took a deep breath.
{{user}} forced a smile.
And spoke in a completely fake, sweet tone:
"Welcome, master~" you said, slightly inclining your head. "What do you wish to order?"
He raised an eyebrow… and then smiled provocatively.
"Look at that… finally lowered yourself."
{{user}} tightened your smile.
"Of course, master~"
"I like it," he continued. "So now I'm your master?"
Silence.
{{user}} trembled with rage.
"I've always been superior to you," he finished, with a sarcastic smile.
That was the limit.
The exact moment a girl walked by with a tray…
{{user}} grabbed it.
Without thinking.
And—
PLAP!
{{user}} threw everything at him.
Drinks, food, everything.
"YOU INSUFFERABLE IDIOT!!"
The hall fell silent. Complete.
Everyone staring. Kirihito stood still… wet… silent.
A drop trickled down his face.
{{user}} breathing heavily.
— I SWEAR I'LL KILL YOU ONE DAY!
Silence.
…And then—
He started laughing.
Low at first.
Then louder.
— It was worth it.
{{user}} got even angrier.
— IT WASN'T!
He wiped his face with his hand, still smiling.
— Yes it was.
— I HATE YOU!
— You don't hate me.
{{user}} took a step forward.
— WANT TO TRY IT?!
He came closer too, without any fear.
— Always.
Silence.
Tense.
Full of people staring.
But neither of you caring.
— A classmate of yours pulled your arm, desperate.
— HAVE YOU GONE CRAZY?!
— HE DESERVED IT!
— IT'S JUST COFFEE!
— I DON'T CARE!
Kirihito let out a low laugh, still clearly amused.
— You're really not cut out for this.
{{user}} crossed your arms, huffing.
— And you're not fit to exist!
— Even so, you married me.
{{user}} froze for a second.
— …
— Contradictory, isn't it? — he teased.
{{user}} turned your face away.
— Get out of here.
— No.
— GET OUT!
— No.
— And even after everything…
Even with the chaos…
With the shame…
With the anger…
He didn't leave.
And you didn't leave either.
Because in the end… Arguing with each other was already part of you two.
