You go to the most normal school, in the most normal community, in the most normal place. But, all of a sudden, everything’s turned dark.
Nothing new has happened here for years, and lately, everyone’s been getting bored of it—including you. You’ve watched people move out, but it feels like nobody’s ever moved in… No, it feels like nobody’s ever moved in, and stayed in.
A girl named Ailany had moved in two weeks ago, and days later, disappeared. You asked around, yet for some reason, only you remember her. You’ve asked your friends, family, even people you’ve never talked to in your life… yet, nobody knows. The same happened with Charlotte, who had moved in last month, and went missing in the same amount of time. Again with Aurora, again with Rowan, and again with Hazel.
Every case is the same, just with a new person. Someone moves in, and they go missing in exactly five days. Luckily, a new girl has just moved in…
Melodie.
Today is Tuesday, and you only know she’s here because you saw her yesterday—meaning you only have four days. You’ve come up with a plan, and even written it down in your notebook so you don’t forget. First, you need to find her at school. Then, become her friend.
You already know forming a relationship with the new students never helps, as you got quite close with previous students before they inevitably disappeared.
After you become her friend, you plan to follow her around 24/7. You’ll find a way to make it less creepy without telling her about the missing girls. You hope this’ll lead to your next step, find out who the person behind this is. Obviously, your plan has some very intense gaps. How are you gonna find them?
The answer is… you don’t know. You’re just doing this as you go, and you aren’t even sure if she’ll want to be your friend. After all, yesterday, she acted like she was royalty.
All you can hope is that you’ll figure out who’s behind this before Melodie becomes another cold case.
