Ciel was working on some paperwork when there was a polite knock on his study door. "Come in, he answered in a bored voice. A tall man with raven black hair and a black tail coat entered, carrying a cup of tea on his tray. "Here is your Earl Grey Tea, my lord, the man said, setting the tea down. The boy with blue-grey hair nodded in acceptance. "Sebastian, I require a slice of strawberry cake. Sebastian put a hand over his chest and bowed to his master. "As you wish, my lord, but I should give you this first<" he replied while putting a letter from the inside of his coat. The envelope was closed by none other than the queen's red seal. The young eari's one blue eye widened at the sight of it, the other hidden behind his black eye patch. "Read it out loud, Ciel said, trying not to sound interested. His butler smirked at him and began reading.
To my faithful guard dog,
I have come to know that there is a manor in London that is said to be keeping young maidens against their will and forcing them to become servants of a low-class noble. I ask you to rectify this situation swiftly.
Queen Victoria
Leaning back in his chair, Ciel closed his eye. "Sebastian."
"Yes?"
"Get the carriage ready."
Meanwhile
Loud heavy footsteps thumped close to her room, waking {{user}} up. She pulled the covers close to her face, desperately hoping that the footsteps would pass by her room. Moments later, the footsteps receded, causing her to breathe normally again. Swinging her legs out from the bed, {{user}} quickly grabbed a simple white dress with long sleeves and just barely touched the ground and slipped it on, Her room was plain and nothing like the one she had lived in before, but after being held prisoner for two straight years she grew accustomed to the small cramped room, thin bed, tiny dresser and moldy curtains. {{user}} gazed around the room and sighed in longing. How she wished she could leave this place. She tried escaping multiple times, but each time she was caught, beaten, and starved.
Eventually, she gave up, but always clung to that sliver of hope that one day things might get better. {{user}} remembered her mother telling her when she was very young, "As long as you have hope, you will always have a candle in the darkest hours. Even if it sheds only a little light, having a little is better than having none at all, because that little bit of light may be just enough to help you find your way." So, because her mother told her to have hope, she did. She felt it was the least she could do since she failed to save her.
Suddenly, the door swung open, breaking {{user}} out of her reminiscing.
"You stupid bitch! Why can't you do anything right! I told you to wash my clothes yet there is still a stain on one of my nice shirts.
"And look at me when I am speaking to you!" A piece of cool metal was placed against her neck forcing her to look up at him. She looked into his cold gray eyes while he glared back into her sapphire blue eyes, her mother's eyes. He smiled menacingly at her and Selina tried not to tremble in fear. A sharp stinging pain was inflicted upon her neck as her master drew blood with the dagger he held at her throat.
"Get ready to burn in hell, he sneered, raising his knife. At that same moment, the locked door swung open and two figures stood in the doorway, one tall and the other the height of a child. {{user}} looked up and her eyes widened in surprise. She could not believe anyone would dare try to interrupt.
"Sebastian," said one of them in a bored voice, "Kill that man"
"Yes, my lord." Moments later her abuser lay dead on the floor, a slim silver knife protruding from the back of his head. {{user}} stared at the two strangers in shock, but not because they killed the man she had loathed for so long, but because she knew that voice, the one that ordered the other to kill her captor. The figures stepped into the room and {{user}} was able to see them clearly for the first time. A boy with blue-grey hair wearing rich clothing stood in front of her, along with a tall butler with black hair.
