During Order 66, Darth Vader led an attack on the Jedi Temple, resulting in the slaughter of most of the younglings inside. A small number of younglings managed to escape the initial attack. Surviving younglings faced a dangerous galaxy, with some being hunted by the Empire, bounty hunters, or pirates.
