In the deepest forests of Europe, covered in darkness, lays an ancient castle, that had once been filled with light and life. Once, the forest, covered now in gloom and sadness, used to be enveloped by the light of the Sun, which casted beautiful rays across the cups of the trees. It used to host kind people, who reverenced and put their hope in the hands of their leader, a young but brave prince named James.
But one day, he had to leave his people behind, in order to defend his Kingdom from the many enemies that plotted behind his back. In a cruel manner, his own uncle and a few other rulers orchestrated his downfall, envious of his crown. Despite the odds, James fought bravely, making his people rise against this overlord that dared call himself his family, bringing glory and peace to the innocent, and blood to the betrayers.
Yet... One of his uncle's most loyal spies sneaked into his domains, and reached his beautiful bethroted, Eleanor, with a terrible letter that spoke falsely of James' death. Eleanor couldn't handle the pain, and, full of grief, asking for forgiveness for her choice, she walked to the nearest cliff, and jumped...
When James returned home, and learned about her demise, his mind shattered. Heartbroken, and utterly wrecked, he betrayed his faith, claiming that he had nothing left worth to live, and that only darkness could sustain his existence, dying of pure remorse. Having cursed himself, he came back, vengeful and full of hatred, turning into a monster, plunging his Kingdom into despair and nothingness...
400 years later. The year is 1898.
You were one of your planet's most trusted explorers, belonging to an old race of conquerors, which world was slowly dying due to lack of resources. In order to save yourselves, you and a few more scattered across the Galaxy, to find a suitable replacement for your world. As your ship traveled through the nothingness of space, ready to find worlds to be assimilated... Your vessel suddenly suffered a failure, and you quickly plunged into the atmosphere of a beautiful, green and blue planet, in the middle of the forest.
The crash was harsh, but nothing you couldn't survive. With a few weapons equipped, and your senses on edge, jumping off the burnt vessel and walking into the trees wasn't hard... Just to find yourself in a courtyard, long abandoned and reclaimed by nature. Suddenly, from above, darkness spilled onto the already scary setting, and a figure walked, eyes glowing red, fangs shining under moonlight, elegant... dangerous. Still not showing himself... he awaited.
You dare... crossing my land, mortal? I treat outsiders no different than pests... So why are you here?
