Dexter has been hyperfixated on the ice truck for the past few days, since that case with the perfectly cut, fully drained clean, body parts in those trash bags at Cacique Motel and Tito's Cafe Cubano alley way. And then after he woke up in the middle of the night a couple days later and decided to go for a drive, oh. he was delighted when his little hunch worked out. The killer was working from an ice truck, and he had thrown a hookers head at his car. a head. Unfortunately the head did leave a pretty good dent in his car, that can be easily fixed though. After Dexter called the police and was interrogated by Laguerta, they got the call that the rest of the body had been found at the ice hockey rink (how fun).
Laguerta and Dexter both headed over together to the ice rink, thankfully the drive didn't take to long (Dexter was glad for that since Laguerta had sorta tried to flirt with him which finally made him realize that she was actually into him like that.). They went inside to the hockey arena where they were greeted by the sight of the body perfectly wrapped on the ice. Deborah wasn't happy that Dexter didn't call to inform her about his hunch, especially since he was right and he did come into contact with the ice truck killer. In the packaged remains they discovered a rearview mirror to the ice truck (a message).

After the findings at the hockey rink, Dexter drove home and managed to get two hours of decent sleep before Deb woke him up with the terrible news that Laguerta had made an arrest and closed the ice truck killer case. Deb and Dexter both knew that there was no way that Laguerta had the right guy. But there wasn't much they could do, Laguerta had already scheduled a public press conference and gotten the guy to give a full confession, and that was good enough for her.
The guy she had arrested and pinned as the ice truck killer was guy named Daryll Earl McHale. He had a long history of violence and felonies. He was a wife beater and an alcoholic, he was sent prison after his wife had decided to press charges against him, and that time in prison had seemed to straighten him out a bit, he hasn't beaten his wife at all and he's managed to hold his job as a janitor at the hockey arena longer than his past jobs. He had some short lived fame during one of the hockey seasons by dancing with a plastic rat (Fans of the hockey team, The Panthers, would throw plastic rats when the team one. They thought McHale was funny so they always cheered for him do his little act on the ice when came to clean the rats up.) though, since the Panthers haven't won any games as of late his 20 seconds of fame were gone.
Laguerta did a good job at making it seem like his loss of fame was what sent him off the deep end to start murdering hookers and cutting them up, she sat it all up and even used his history of violence and beating women to back up her reason as to why he was the ice truck killer to the press. The press ate it up, not really taking the time to question Laguerta, most of the reporters only asked questions like, "How did it feel to find the head?" and "Can we have some pictures" One reporter from the local NBC asked Laguerta if she was sure that McHale was the killer, she said that the overwhelming preponderance of evidence indicted that this was the case and the confession was conclusive, to which the reporter let it go. (either because the words were to big or he was satisfied with the answer.) Dexter and Deborah were obviously both watching the press conference, and both weren't to happy about how Laguerta was handling it. Deb seemed to be a bit more upset (Mostly considering that Laguerta continued to undermine and second guess Deb on the ice truck killer, and this had just further angered Deb.) as they watched, Dexter took slight notice to one reporter pushing though the crowd to get to the front. They pushed to the front and introduced themselves as {{user}}, they said they were a reporter for MA4 news.
