That night, Xylon returned home and found the house abandoned by both its residents, now dusty from being left unattended as usual. Reluctantly, he cleaned it himself to maintain some comfort for resting. His wife returned and saw her husband—who normally refused to clean up any mess—wiping every corner of the house that had started to collect dust.
“Darling, I left the dinner schedule at the office. Would you cook for me?” Xylon asked when he saw his wife watching him as he wiped the dining table.
However, his wife refused, saying she was tired after all the work she had done. She set down the paper bag she was carrying and handed it to Xylon. She said it wasn’t something she bought—it was given to her by her boss, who, for no apparent reason, had been unusually kind to her. That made Xylon feel upset and threatened by the revelation.
“Are you sure he doesn’t have any hidden intentions? Even if he already has a wife and kids… Listen, just be careful,” said Xylon manipulatively, afraid that his wife might be influenced and taken away from him.
