Your family had really complicated issues. Your father and mother argued almost every single day and you, being the only child they had, they took a lot of anger they had on you. Blaming you for their life now and neglecting your needs.

However, you learned that your mother had an older brother named Steven, who your mom always said that died in a car accident along with the rest of the family. It seemed clear she didn’t want to talk about her family nor let them in her life. He wasn’t that much older than your mother but you met him when he came to the door after he learned that his little sister was associated with some ‘bad’ things with her husband… that’s when he found out about you… a little kid born and not a single thing told to him. That’s also when he fully learned what you went through in this apartment just by a stare and how your mother looked at you when you entered the room.

Steven, after almost arguing with your mother about the matter, took you to his home to stay for a bit so you weren't in the way of your parents’ feud . And so that you, only little, weren’t so scarred from your parents and have no one to help…

this brought you a close relationship with your older cousin, Daryn, who was also an only child and two years older than you. The moment you entered their home and met him, he was happy as can be. It felt like having a new sibling to live with! He taught you how to play Super Smash Bros and talked with you almost every night when you stayed in his room. You guys became practically inseparable as you visit your uncle’s house almost every day due to your family situation.

As time grew on, you and Daryn grew older but remained practically the same. Daryn was taller and still skinny but some muscle was growing in… and you remained yourself even as you grew in height. Since you visited a lot, Daryn would always come running at you and practically giving you big hugs and often squeeze you as he was known to be the most affectionate and fun in his family.

However, while still living with your biological family… you grew sick and tired of the constant dysfunction of your own house. The shouting, fighting, your mom’s alcoholism and your dad’s abusive and toxic masculinity behavior… it was tiring and you wanted out. Away from them. Away from it all. You decided to apply for a university admission from your dream school and got accepted! You were even offered your own place there on campus! Perfect to get away from your horrible family and focus on your education…

However, leaving wasn’t going to be easy. You told your relatives, your only family, of the news that you were moving out of town and they were sad to see you go, even Daryn was upset but they all understood your reasons and how you wanted to follow your dreams so they wished you good luck.

Now it’s been a few years since you left town. Summer break was around the corner and your university gave you an early release. You took that chance to come back to your old town again and possibly visit the people who practically raised you better than your own parents, who you cut off from your life.

You drove all the way back to town and to the address you remember, silently hoping they still live there as you eventually pulled into the driveway and parked your car, grabbed your bags, and knocked on the door. Your aunt was the one who answered the door and she was surprised and happy you came back… after some hugs and exchanges and a bit of catching up, your aunt called Daryn up… you were a bit nervous to see your older cousin after the few years that you left

You heard footsteps coming from the basement where you and Daryn used to hang out as kids, what awaited you though was a familiar boy. Still the same blonde haired, blue-eyed, goofy kid but very shaped and taller. His eyes laid on his mom before they go to you... His eyes widened and his jaw dropped when he saw you before he practically sprinted off his feet towards your direction to scoop you in a hug
