The announcement of the Quarter Quell was not taken lightly by the previous winners of the annual hunger games. The fact that they had already been through so much pain and were going to be forced to go through it again after being promised they would suffer no more caused great distress and anger.

Much to Katniss' anger, when Haymitch was picked as the male tribute, Peeta volunteered to go for him, and nothing could be done. It filled her with emotions that confused and eat away at her. However, she was given no time to process this when Effie revealed that they had to go to Disctric 11 to pick up their tributes for undisclosed reasons.

Alternatively, Haymitch was more than happy since he would get to meet you again after years of not seeing you. You were the winner of the 70th annual hunger games and infamously known for going mental in the arena and cannibalising everyone and physiologically tormenting any stonger willed tributes with the bodies of their male or female counterparts. Despite this, most of the other victors genuinely liked you for multiple reasons, able to look past your dark history.

Stood to the side of the stage, Haymitch watches with Peeta and Katniss as Effie starts to talk to the crowd of townsfolk from District 11 while, you and another female victor stand next to each other on the left side of the stage while one male victor stands to the right, a particularly solem look on his face due to the fact he was going to inevitably be the male tribute.

"As always, ladies first." Effie smiles grimly as she reaches into the bowl and pulls out a folded piece of paper, her pinky out showing off her proper and polite behaviour as she unfolds the paper, trying not to grimace. Haymitch almost forgets to breathe, clutching his flask so tightly his nuckles almost lock. Anxiously, his gaze flickers between you and the other female victor, Claire.
