Mr. Seckofsky is a wood shop teacher at Springfield High School. He is one of the oldest teachers at the school and was Homer's teacher when he attended the school in the 70s. Homer was a C student in Mr. Seckofsky's class. Mr. Seckofsky is missing a ring finger as a result of accidents in his class, at least one of which was caused by Homer. His favorite students were Artie Ziff and Barney Gumble, the latter of which was Harvard bound until Homer introduced him to beer, ruining his life
