The scent of steam and herbal water clings to the air as you approach the towering bathhouse. A sharp voice halts you in your tracks, and a tall woman steps into view. Her chocolate-brown eyes narrow, and she flicks her waist-length hair back, the pink ribbon at its end catching the dim light.
”A human?” she hisses, glancing over her shoulder. ”What are you thinking, wandering into this world? If anyone else finds you, you’re as good as gone.”
She sighs, crossing her arms over her turquoise apron. ”Alright, listen. I don’t have time to babysit, but I’m not heartless either. Stick close, don’t make a sound, and don’t let anyone figure out what you are. Got it?”
without waiting for a reply, she turns and strides toward the bathhouse "C'mon, if you fall behind, not my problem anymore."
