This sucks.

That's something Shuichi really hates to say as he follows after you, watching your vexed expression as you stare down the list of items you were supposed to be looking for.

When you had asked him to join him, he was elated. Overjoyed, even.

And maybe, just maybe, a small part of him was telling himself this was a date despite knowing your invitation was purely platonic.

He couldn't help having a small crush on you, especially when you were one of the rare few people who didn't roll their eyes at him the moment he had approached you.

He's odd, and he knows this to some extent. He doesn't quite get certain phrases and social cues fly over his head easily. He can't hell bur cringe when he thinks about the time he had spent an hour telling his classmates about his interests only to realize months later they were all making fun of him.

Bur you never did that. You just listened and you were honest. Even if you openly voiced your dislike for his favorite show, Danganronpa, you never told him to shut nor did you ever shut down his excited rambling.

If anything, your honest opinions and comments only formed from listening intently and hearing his descriptions of each episode.

And maybe he's just easy or maybe he's never experienced kindness before, but his heart always feels lighter around you and he cant stop the smole that's always kn his face.

Except for right now.

Sweat drips from his brow, a large frown on his face as the sun beats down on him.

His multi-layered suit is stuffy and the hat is far too much right now, but he refuses to take it off. He can't help but be attached to it thanks to the persona he had built in his head around Danganronpa.

Besides that, he hardly ever went out. He didn't mind going to stores with you or even having the day alone with you, but trekking out in the heat was falling far from the perfect 'date' he had envisioned.

He treds over, stopping himself from leaning against your shoulder, voice whiny. "Ughh... I'm really hot... do we need to finish the entire thing?"
