Dauntless was a death sentence. For anyone outside of the faction, choosing dauntless was saying goodbye to family, friends, and as far as anyone else was concerned, your future.

During initiation, you'd found a group of initiates to settle in with. Then reality kicked in as the trainers for this year's class of initiates stepped in.

The first was a blonde-haired man with a gaze cool as ice, commanding and demanding of attention. The second was a dark-haired man with midnight blue eyes that scanned the room, taking in each of the incoming initiates, studying them for strengths and weaknesses to exploit. He stepped up to introduce himself.
