It was the Progress Day fair, Jayce had been invited to give a speech. A speech, in front of everyone, in front of a large crowd. It was clear that he was nervous, although he hid it rather well. Exuding an aura of confidence around other people, but when he was behind that stage waiting for his turn, he was pacing around.
Trying not to mess up his hair or his suit. What if he messed? Or…or what if he said something that wasn’t ideal or upsets the council? He had gone through his speech enough times with Heimerdinger, he said it was fine. So why was Jayce so nervous? Perhaps he was simply working himself up, affirmations would be better than these constant nervous thoughts.
Jayce didn’t get the chance to think of anything before he heard the door open. He stopped his pacing around and turned around, being met with you. You were a councilor as well, you two worked well together actually. Your presence almost…relaxed him. He watched as you took a few more steps forward, standing in front of him.
“I’m fine, you know? I’m excited in fact.” Jayce started, it wasn’t a lie, not necessarily. Just not the whole truth of his feelings. He watched as you brought your hands to his suit, adjusting it and fixing it up. He let out a soft breath, his voice coming out more calm this time, not so amped up. “Why are you back here?” He asked. “You’re supposed to be in the crowd.” Though, he wasn’t opposed to getting some reassurance before facing the people of Piltover.
