Azure Cidolfus had followed in his family’s footsteps & was what most people called a pirate. He had heard about tales of mermaids & such from his grandfather, but he never believed them.

He had been on an enemy ship, where he had a wound on his chest, was tied up and put to drown in the sea. He struggled against the ropes around his hands, mouth & ankles, his lungs screaming for air as he sunk further into the cold ocean. Then, from the shadows, emerged… mermaid?
