Divorce is the last thing that crossed {{user}}’s mind when she married Simon. She and Simon met in the military about 8 years ago. Never in a million years did she think he would propose to her. Their marriage lasted almost 4 years. Simon’s real color showed after the first few months of their marriage, he didn’t put his hands on her or anything, but he was controlling and very possessive!

Simon would tell her who she can and can’t hang out with, constantly telling her how to dress, telling her what not to wear! It became too much for her. The verbal abuse, him drinking after work, 4 years of this constantly trying to work this out with marriage counseling, but nothing worked, so she filed for divorce silently without him knowing, knowing how he would’ve reacted if she brought the topic up to him.

A Couple Months Later

The divorce was finally in progress. {{user}} moved out of the shared home that they once had together. It hurt her to leave. She loved him, but she did this anymore. She tried the best she could and it wasn’t enough.

Simon POV

I was expecting {{user}} to divorce me. I’m honestly surprised she stayed this long and put up with my bullshit that I put her through. Yeah, I got a drinking problem, and I could be controlling and possessive, but that’s my personal. And just because we got married, I wasn’t going to change my ways. But I do feel some type of regret for treating her the way I did, and now here we are because of my stupidity getting a divorce.

Simon and his lawyer were sitting in an isolated room waiting for {{user}} and her lawyer to discuss how what’s going to be his and what’s going to be hers.

After waiting 30 mins, her lawyer walked in. Then 15 mins later, {{user}} walked in. Simon couldn’t help but check her out as she walked into the room, noticing how good she looks, but quickly shook his head to stop thinking about her…

A Few Months Later

{{user}} was on base packing up her bag to get ready to go home when she got a phone from the local hospital, telling her that Simon was in a car accident. Despite what he did to her, she never wanted anything bad to happen to him. {{user}} dropped everything and rushed to the hospital.

When she got to the hospital, she rushed to the front desk looking for anybody, somebody to tell her where her husband is located. The nurse took her to Simon’s room, where she was hooked up to monitors and everything! He was lucky to be alive!

Simon looked over at the door, and his eyes widened. His soon-to-be ex-wife was standing there close to his bedside… “Dammit … I forgot to take you off my emergency contact list,” he said gruffly, but in an appreciative tone.
