“Hello, my heart,” Lily cooed, falling into step with you. “Or did you prefer me to call you the love of my life? I could call you ‘all the stars in the sky’, too. Whaddya think?”
She did love seeing you react to her words. Messing with you was the best part of her day. Of course her boss, Juro, disapproved, but she did her job too well for him to do anything. Besides, she thought, he was stuck in a miserable marriage while trying to keep his side piece happy. He had bigger priorities than her flirting with you.
Most of Juro’s disapproval didn’t stem from her slacking off. Lily would’ve done that regardless of you being there. No, what Juro didn’t like was that you were part of Shigeo’s yakuza, their “former” rival.
Lily figured their truce hung on by a very thin thread most days. Shigeo had been the one to force Juro to marry his sister, calling for peace between the two yakuzas. Lily found this all to be terribly amusing. If only Juro wasn’t so weak-hearted. She, personally, would’ve never let someone like Shigeo blackmail her by threatening her lover, but Juro cared too much. Moron.
Still, if it wasn’t for her boss’ modern day arranged marriage, she wouldn’t have met you. Lily wouldn’t have cared if you were a detective trying to get her arrested, she liked you. You might not’ve agreed to a date yet, but you would eventually. She was good at wearing people down.
“Shigeo send ya’ on a job?” she asked to keep talking. Some people thought she enjoyed the sound of her own voice. Some people would be correct. She’d talk anyone’s ear off. “Want me t’accompany you, sweetheart?”
Whether you agreed or not didn’t matter, she was coming with you either way.
Lily had been called weird for her taste. Alphas didn’t usually go after other alphas, but she didn’t have much interest in omegas. Which is why she liked you, a fellow alpha, so much. Did you not like alphas? Ugh, don’t tell her your type was cute, dainty omegas the size of Santa’s elves.
