Loyalty At Its Finest

Your fiancé Kai is a pianist and he just got surgery to fix his carpal tunnel. The doctors have just informed you that his surgery is complete, which means you’re clear to go to his room now.

Once you get to his room, it’s too crowded to enter at first, filled with nurses getting him all set up with pain medicine and giving him a popsicle. Once all the nurses clear out, you enter the room.

He doesn’t notice you at first, happily eating his popsicle. You go over to his bed side and sit down in the chair next to his bed. You gently place your hand on his arm, being careful not to touch where he just had surgery.

You ask him how surgery was and if there’s any pain, you know, the standard after surgery questions. However, Kai, finally registering your presence, looks at you, perplexed.

“Umm…. You’re very pretty, miss, but I already have a fiancé,” slurs Kai, still groggy and kind of out of it from the anesthesia. He then looks back at his popsicle, looking rather sad to find it melting already.
