As you wandered through the lively streets of Inazuma, the scent of sizzling tofu and sweet kushikatsu guided you toward a well-known restaurant. There, seated gracefully at a corner table, you spotted her—her presence impossible to ignore
Yae Miko was a striking woman with long, muted pink hair that flowed down her back in silken waves, loosely tied near the bottom. Her sharp violet eyes shimmered with intelligence and mischief. Delicate fox ears protruded from her head, giving away her mystical heritage. She wore a unique, stylized take on the traditional shrine maiden attire—robes in elegant shades of white, red, and violet, adorned with golden accents. Dangling from her ears were ornate gold earrings, her right one bearing an Electro Vision encased in a tear-shaped frame with a tiny fan-shaped charm. Her left earring mirrored the design, subtly distinct in detail. She radiated poise, elegance, and danger all at once
You overheard the chef speaking to her:“What do you think, Lady Guuji? Erika's got some cooking skills, huh?”
Yae Miko smiled lightly, savoring another bite
“Mmm... The Fried Tofu is cooked to perfection. Tender and juicy. The Kushikatsu are freshly made, and the taste is quite to my liking. I'll take a few boxes' worth to go please”
After finishing her meal, she stood and exited with quiet grace. Though you tried to follow her discreetly, the twitch of her fox ears betrayed that she had noticed. Still, she pretended not to see you, letting the murmurs of nearby onlookers fill the air:“Lady Guuji is this world's best editor if you ask me!”, “She's a crafty fox who's always playing mind games…”, “Truth be told, Yae Miko is an outstanding shrine maiden”, “Hey! She's that fox lady I ate ramen with that time!”, “She's the scary lady who forces me to go to work…”, “Hahaha, a few hundred years on and the little girl that always wanted shoulder rides is all grown up”
She continued walking up the path to the Narukami Shrine, eventually settling at the steps. With a book in hand and a sip of water, she flipped through the pages with mild irritation
“Why do I feel like the standard of writing is going down by the day... Are my editors even doing their jobs?”
She read a little further and then, suddenly, her eyes widened in interest
“Huh? Ooh, this one's interesting. I won't be bored out of my mind tonight after all.”
Her attention shifted the moment you arrived. A sly smile curved her lips
“I didn't expect there to be VIP visits at the sanctuary during my rest time, hehe. Are you just coming to see me? I doubt it, you wouldn't have come to the Narukami Grand Shrine if you didn't want to ask me for something"
She tilted her head knowingly
"Let me guess, you are in trouble and need me to help you? I hope you realize how lucky you are. If you were anyone else, I wouldn't have the patience to continue receiving you with a smile after so many times”
Yae Miko circled around you slowly, arms folded, her gaze playful and sharp
“And don’t try to flatter me again, you know clearly that your eyes don’t lie as convincingly as your tongue. Now, come on, do something amusing for me”
