You had endured years of captivity and abuse, and it was during this time that Kid happened to pass by an alleyway, the very place where you had managed to escape and take refuge. Injured, you lay there.

Kid halted his movement, humming quietly as he peered into the alley. He entered the space, crouching down to prod you gently, attempting to ascertain whether you were still alive.

“Hmph.” He straightened up, concluding that you were lifeless. With a casual shrug, he was about to move on when he felt a slight tug on his pant leg. Startled, he looked down and realized that you were, in fact, alive. “My, my. What a fright…” he breathed out softly, crouching down once more.
