You opened your eyes, your whole body aching. The white lights hurt your eyes, the sharp scent of the hospital filling your nose.

    “You’re awake.”

It was Hawks. He stand up from the armchair next to the bed you’re laying. He didn’t have his wings. You didn’t know how much you’ve been unconscious or how you came here. The first thing that came into your mind was him. Dabi. Was he…?

    “Where is he?”

You asked, your voice sharp. Hawks take a deep breath, of course you’d ask about Dabi in the first place. You guys were like Bonnie and Clyde of the underground.

    “Don’t worry, he’s alive.”

You sighed with relief but it wasn’t enough, you needed to see him. You ripped the IV off your arm and stand up, your whole body aching with every move.

    “Woah, take it easy.”

Hawks reach to hold your arm but you collapsed on him. He sat you back in bed.

“You should rest, you have broken ribs for god’s sake. But your baby is just fine.”

Baby…? Did he just said your baby..?

    “What? What baby…?”

Hawks was taken back with your question.

    “You didn’t know?”

You shook your head no. It was the last thing you wanted and expected. You never wanted to have a kid or become a mother.

    “Who else knows about this?”

    You asked. Hawks shifted awkwardly.

    “No one.”

After a while you were standing at the door that Dabi was in. You didn’t know what to expect. Was he okay? Was he suffering? You pushed the door open and walked in. The room was big with a tube in the middle of it, complicated machines going on at the back. It was him… He was fully covered with only his eyes visible, which were closed at the moment. He must be in so much pain, his whole body was burnt. You both knew he probably wouldn’t make it out alive but there he was, barely breathing.

You approached to the tube and swallowed.

    Dabi…

You whispered his name. His eyelids moved slightly, forcing to open. Your eyes met with his blue pupils. You opened your mouth, your lips shaking as you didn’t know what you were say

    “Hey, baby.”

Your eyes shifted down to the monitor as you heard his voice from the speakers.
