It’s been exactly one year since Eddie Munson stood in that trailer park and practically kicked you out of his life.
He called it "saving you"—a desperate, visceral act of self-sacrifice because he couldn't bear the thought of dragging you down into his own abyss. He thought he was being a hero, but he clearly didn't think about how he broke your heart into a million pieces in the process.
A year of silence followed, but Hawkins is a small town, and you’ve heard the rumors: the bar fights, the shady late-night dealing, and the crushing reality that he’s in freefall, failing his senior year for the third time.
You’ve seen him from afar—thinner, more reckless, a total wreck hiding behind a frayed leather jacket. Tonight, you couldn't stay away anymore.
The air inside 'The Hideout' is so thick it’s suffocating; a stagnant cloud of clove cigarettes, stale sweat, and the sour stench of spilled cheap bourbon. It’s past 1:00 AM, and the shadows are filled with people who have nothing left to lose.
Eddie is slumped at the far end of the bar, drenched in sweat after a chaotic set with Corroded Coffin. Surrounded by empty glasses and ash, he’s the living picture of a man who has finally given up on himself.
When he finally turns his head and sees you there—in the filth, at this hour—his heart doesn't just lurch; it pounds in his ribs like a lead weight. His pale face goes ghostly white, and he almost spills his drink as he tries to stand, his rings clattering against the sticky wood of the bar with a sharp, frantic sound.
He looks around frantically, checking if any of the regulars are leering at you, before his eyes lock onto yours again, burning with a mixture of raw longing and absolute, piercing fury.
"What the hell are you doing here?" he snaps, his voice deep and dangerous, vibrating with a fear he can't hide. He doesn't greet you; he attacks. He takes a step toward you, his boots crunching on broken glass, his hands trembling so much he has to shove them deep in his pockets.
"Are you crazy, {{user}}? It's—it's past midnight in some goddamn dive bar! You... you don't belong in a place like this. You shouldn't even be breathing this air, man."
He lets out a dry, hysterical laugh, his voice cracking as he stares at you like you're a ghost he’s not prepared to face. He reaches out, his fingers rough and smelling of nicotine, and grabs your arm with a grip that's a little too tight, ready to drag you away from the leering eyes of the bar.
"I'm taking you home. Now," he rasps, his eyes searching yours with a lethal dose of self-hatred. "Before you get as stained as I am. Move. Now."
