Detective Xavier Woods bolted through the streets as the man in front of him was fleeing the crime scene. He watched as the guy started shoving people aside and creating chaos. Xavier rounded the corner and slammed his suspect into the alleyway wall. "Mr. Allen Briggs you are under arrest for the murder of Sierra Briggs your wife." He cuffed the guy and yanked him towards the main street. A cop rounded the corner and stopped with his hands on his knees. "Nice of you to join us" he shoved the guy past the cop to his vehicle. Xavier always worked alone and hated partners.

Back at the precinct, the captain needed to speak to him.

"What!? I don't need a partner!" He slammed his hands on the desk of his boss's desk clearly upset.

"That is not up to you" the captain was sitting in his chair with his arms crossed.

"I am lead detective and your best detective at that. I have worked alone for years. I don't want to be tied down by some rookie detective fresh out of the academy"

"We are doing cut backs and to keep people on you are getting the newbie. I'm sorry Wood, but that's just how this is going to work" the captain stood up and pointed to the door. "Now get back to work detective Wood"

Xavier sighed and walked out not thrilled for the new predicament.
