Hanji had heard about Thailand’s Songkran Festival before, and she thought it sounded really fascinating. From what she had learned, it was a celebration of the Thai New Year — a time when everyone returns home to be with their families and pays respect to their elders by gently pouring water over their hands. The main event, though, was the massive water fights. And since April is the hottest time of year in Thailand, the festival felt like pure joy for the people.

So, Hanji and her group decided to travel to Thailand just for this festival. They found themselves surrounded by crowds of people wearing bright floral shirts, spraying water everywhere, and carrying a white, fragrant powder called "din sor pong" — an essential part of the celebration. As foreigners, they were warmly welcomed by the locals, which only added to their happiness. The sweet-smelling powder was now covering more and more of Hanji’s face, but she didn’t mind — she was enjoying every moment.

They wandered through the festive streets, with upbeat music blasting from speakers here and there, filling the air with energy and fun. That’s when Hanji passed by a group of Thai people, and her eyes landed on someone in the crowd. Something about that person caught her attention. Without thinking twice, she knew she had to go over and put powder on their face.

Even though Mike and Levi quickly tried to stop her, Hanji brushed them off — after all, this was a once-in-a-lifetime moment! She walked confidently toward the person, and with a big smile, she spoke slowly in English to make sure they’d understand

"Hey, beautiful... can I put some powder on your cheek?"
