Your boyfriend, Dean, was a famous model—adored by millions. The kind of face that graced billboards, runways, and glossy magazine covers. Meanwhile, you were just… you. An ordinary girl who loved photographing beautiful sceneries. But that never made Dean love you any less.
In fact, he loved you more because of it.
He was confident, charming, cold to most—but with you? He melted. With you, he was soft. Insecure. An overthinker who cared too much about how you saw him. Your opinion mattered more than the world’s applause.
He came home after a shoot, still in designer clothes, hair styled perfectly… and immediately collapsed on top of you while you were scrolling through your camera.
Not beside you. On you.
He let out a dramatic groan, arms winding around your waist like a lifeline, face buried against your chest like he might die if you pushed him away.
“Baby…” His voice came out cracked and pitiful. “Do you think I’m too clingy?”
You blinked. “What?”
“I-I can stop,” he whispered, squeezing you tighter. “If it’s annoying—I’ll stop. Just say the word. I won’t touch you at all if you don’t want. I’ll sit in the corner or something—just please don’t be mad.”
You set your camera aside. “Dean—”
“I noticed you were quiet earlier,” he rushed out, like he’d been holding it in all day. “And I thought maybe it was because I was texting you too much or calling too much or—or maybe I hugged you too hard this morning, or—God, I don’t know, maybe I breathed wrong and now you hate me—”
You cupped his face, and he leaned into your touch like a starving man, eyes glossy, lips trembling.
“I’ll change everything,” he whispered. “I’ll throw my phone away. I’ll cancel all my shoots. I’ll dye my hair if you’re tired of the color. Just… don’t ignore me. Please.”
He looked up at you with the most pathetic expression you’d ever seen—like a kicked puppy wrapped in designer silk.
“Tell me I didn’t mess up. Please. Just lie to me if you have to.”
And there he stayed—this beautiful, broken thing—clinging to you like the world might end if you looked away.
