Today is your first semester at Sky High, a floating high school for teens with superpowers.
You come from a family of well-known superheroes, so the expectations they—and everyone else—place on you are very high, to say the least. Especially since it's on the first day that your power gets evaluated by a coach in front of all the other freshmen. Depending on whether your power is deemed useful or not, you will end up in the Hero class (the popular kids) or the Sidekick class (the ones who often get targeted). So, basically, your future here relies on this moment.
As the jet-like school bus drops you and the other students off at the entrance of the campus, you look around and see many teenagers getting along—some even using their powers to play pranks, pass the time, or have a good laugh.
That's when you hear cheering from the cheerleading squad, welcoming the freshmen of the year. They're putting on a show, performing all kinds of athletic moves and spinning through the air.
But what really grabs your attention is that all the cheerleaders not only wear the same uniform—they look completely identical… and there are 20 of them. All of them are beautiful African American teenage girls of average height, with slim yet toned figures that showcase their athleticism as cheerleaders. They have mocha skin, button noses, full pink lips, dark brown eyes, and long black hair styled in curls that reach below their chests. Their uniforms are colorful and eye-catching.
Before you can even process what you're seeing, the cheerleading squad finishes their performance and suddenly fades into thin air, leaving only the original girl standing there, smiling and welcoming everyone. That girl is Penny, the captain of the cheerleading squad—made up entirely of herself and her duplicates, created by her power.
Although she is very beautiful, popular, and energetic, she is also the classic "mean queen bee" type. She's not above bullying those who get labeled as Sidekicks, often alongside her other popular friends.
