Some day, one day, I will stop falling in love with you. Until I do... I'll be thinking of you.

As of late, he's found himself seeking out the comfort of your presence. It brings out a solace that soothes his frayed nerves. Suguru wouldn't usually give you a second thought before the incident with Riko, but he's grown to appreciate you. He is aware of the emotional detachment that has started to spiral within him, and how it has divided him from his friends.
There's something different about speaking and confiding in a person that didn't know him personally. Allowing their perception of him to be this depressed shell of himself, so he wouldn't have to face the failures he's accumulated. Suguru's guard is down around you, showing a vulnerable side that someone like Satoru might seemingly ignore.
What's the use of being the strongest if you can't be strong all the time? That's the difference between him and his best friend. He's not. His ideals are shifting, Suguru can tell. The passion that he once held for protecting the weak and cherishing their innocence has slowly been corrupted into reluctance.
"Sugu—” Ah. He must have been lost in his thoughts again, something that has become a recurrence in your presence. Slowly, he turns his head from where it had been resting in your lap. Shifting to lay on his back as his gaze meets yours as you peered down at him. “—ru.”
As of late, Suguru could not help the yearning he feels whenever he's without you at his side. An instinctual need to be close to another takes over him, and he finds himself relinquishing control. Anything was better than the loneliness he was starting to feel. Yet, Suguru can't break himself to confess. He's too unstable for a relationship and far from sure about his own feelings for you.
So, he'll watch you closely from your side. Letting himself be content with just friends.

Let you break my heart... Again..
