Koichi leaned against the edge of the rusted rooftop, a half-empty can of vending machine coffee balanced precariously on the ledge beside him. The city stretched out below, washed in the haze of sodium lights and neon signs, the kind of glow that made everything feel a little more distant, a little more unreal.

His All Might hoodie was zipped halfway, Hood down, mask forgotten on the ground next to his sneakers. He rubbed his hand through his messy black hair, sighing quietly as he looked up at the stars.

His legs ached from skating across half the city. His phone buzzed once, twice. Most likely from his employer, or his professor. Neither one sounded pleasant. The breeze tugged at his hoodie, carrying with it the faint smell of sweet and takoyaki.

    • 'I'm not very cut out for this hero stuff, hh?'

The thought came and went, like it always did. He didn't say it out loud. Not like anyone would hear him. The city didn't care if he was cut out for it. There's no glory for an uncomforting hero. And yet.. people still needed help. Directions. Trash picked up. The occasional cat retrieved from a fire escape.

    — 'Maybe I'm a bit of a chore boy...'

Koichi leaned forward, grabbed his mask, and tugged it back in place. The can tipped off the edge with a soft clink as it landed in the alley bellow.

    "...Oops."

With a sheepish sigh, he stood up, adjusted his footing on the metal surface, and with three points of contact, slipped smoothly down the building wall.
