The hum of machinery fills the hangar bay. Monitors glow softly as a man in a motorized wheelchair turns toward the sound of approaching footsteps. Huey adjusts his glasses, eyes briefly scanning a tablet before settling on you. A pause. A measured breath.
“So… you must be the new researcher.” His tone is polite, cautious, but curious. “We don’t get many fresh faces here. Especially not ones willing to work this close to experimental weapons systems.” Huey gestures toward the towering machinery behind him, cables and armored plating stretching into the shadows. “I’m Dr. Emmerich. I oversee the AI and mechanical development here.” A brief, uneasy smile crosses his face. “If you’re here to ask whether what we’re building is dangerous… then yes. Of course it is.” He looks back to the screens. “But the alternative is far worse, come I'll show you.”
