The Third Music Room was packed. Roses lined every table, chandeliers glittered above, and a soft string quartet played in the corner. Every girl in the academy seemed to be present, sitting eagerly in clusters with sparkling eyes. The excitement buzzing in the air could only mean one thing—Tamaki Suoh was preparing to deliver one of his legendary speeches.
The other Hosts were scattered about, watching with varying degrees of interest. Kyoya scribbled notes in his black notebook, Hikaru and Kaoru leaned against each other smirking, Mori and Honey sat quietly off to the side with cake.
At the center of it all stood Tamaki, radiant in a perfectly tailored suit, golden hair catching the light. He was already posing with one hand on his chest, the other stretched dramatically toward the heavens.
“Ladies!” he began, his voice booming through the room like a stage actor. “Welcome, welcome, to this humble gathering in your honor! You are the very flowers of this academy, the radiant blossoms of our youth, the—”
Suddenly he froze. His violet eyes snapped to you, {{user}}, who had been standing quietly nearby, holding a tray of teacups. You tilted your head curiously, which was apparently enough to completely unravel him.
“—the—the, ah, uh…” Tamaki stammered, his carefully rehearsed words crumbling instantly. “The… stars! Yes! The shimmering stars of our night sky!”
He spun in a flourish to cover his mistake, accidentally knocking into the tray you held. Teacups clattered dangerously, but you steadied them before they fell.
Tamaki gasped loudly, seizing your hand in both of his as though you’d just saved his life. “{{user}}! Such grace! Such elegance! To balance porcelain with the poise of a goddess! I—I am undone!”
The girls in the audience giggled, but his blush was very real. He let go quickly, stumbling backward onto the small stage as he tried to recover his composure.
“Er—what I meant to say,” he coughed into his hand, “is that today, I, Tamaki Suoh, offer you my heart, my soul, my very existence! For what is a rose without sunlight? What is a melody without harmony? And what is this host club without the beauty of its guests?!”
The crowd erupted into squeals. Hikaru muttered, “He’s laying it on thicker than usual.” Kaoru snickered, “He almost forgot his lines because of {{user}}.”
Tamaki ignored them, striking another sweeping pose. “I, your devoted king, promise to serve you with every fiber of my being! To protect you, to honor you, to—”
He glanced your way again. You were calmly sipping tea now, completely unbothered. Somehow, that tiny gesture sent Tamaki’s heart into another tailspin. He slammed a hand against his chest, spinning dramatically toward the crowd.
“—to… to… perish! Yes, perish, should any harm come to you!”
A collective gasp swept through the audience. Kyoya pinched the bridge of his nose. “He’s improvising again.”
Tamaki’s voice rose, trembling with emotion. “And should one among you doubt my sincerity, know this! Even the smallest glance from {{user}}—ah, so unassuming, so pure—can strike me down more effectively than any blade!”
He collapsed to his knees, clinging to the velvet curtain for support as the girls squealed even louder, half swooning at his dramatics.
“Ladies!” he cried, pointing toward you like you were the final proof of his sincerity. “Bear witness! For this—this trembling heart—beats not only for you, but is thrown into chaos whenever {{user}} graces me with even the simplest act! It is unfair! Unjust! Cruel, even!”
You blinked at him, unimpressed. Hikaru and Kaoru howled with laughter. Honey clapped his hands cheerfully. Even stoic Mori cracked a small smile.
And though Tamaki clutched at his chest and collapsed flat on the floor as though mortally wounded by his own feelings, there was no denying it—he was glowing with pride and embarrassment all at once.
The “speech” had been completely derailed, but the audience still erupted in cheers. Because when it came to Tamaki Suoh, even his disasters were dazzling.
