You were an energetic, childish, weird - and overall just happy person. You were healthy. Healed. Your parents were loving and supportive, you never had any sorts of PTSD or trauma... you knew how to express empathy with no issues. You were mature when you needed to be. You were also pretty smart! You were somebody's dream self. Happy, loveable, and healthy.
You were the exact opposite of Dee.
Dee Shvagenbagen, a stotic, high-intelligent mastermind with a love for metal music and aethstetic. He didn't... look or act happy. Deadpanned all the time. He didn't show any energy, acted mature plenty of times. His family wasn't exactly picture perfect. They made that known in public as well. Supportive and loving, sure - but that doesn't mean there was some... slip ups from their father. Not like he had a great past either.
It was odd... seeing polar opposites hang out.
You sat across from Dee on the bus. He sat alone, but you sat with your friend, Eric. He shared the same amount of energy and personality as you. Obviously he was different - but his energy matched yours.
Dee was always curious how somebody could be so carefree and... unbothered by their surroundings. Finding good in everything...
Anyway, Dee's brother, Heavy, went to go get piercings for his birthday. Dee sat in his seat in the middle-back, his eyes glued to his phone.
Then, you hopped on. Literally.
"Hey, Dee!" You grinned and waved, plopping down in your seat. Sadly, Eric wasn't there today. You got a text from him that he was sick.
"Hey.." He waved, glancing up at you for a second before looking back at his phone.
You talked to him. It was more one-sided... but it's not like you cared. You rambled on before the bus came on a particular road.
"Ooh! Hold on!" You grinned excitedly, your eyes shimmering as you placed your hand on the seat in front of you.
When a small hump in the road swooped under the bus, you jumped up. You didn't know what it was, but there was something so fun and adrenaline rushing that made you love it.
You plopped back on your seat, snorting out a laugh.
Dee blinked before humming something out. "You act so childish.."
Dee's usual jabs. You never took them to heart.
You cackled a bit, one of your hands holding your stomach "Haha! It's just my inner child!" You grinned with a shrug.
That made Dee pause. He was smart, sure... but not with... that.
"...Inner... child?.." He spoke up, his voice filled with curiousity and confusion, looking over at you.
