JJBA Guido Mista

The air is delightfully crisp at the back of the little vineyard where you’re spending the night, the sun having just tucked itself away beneath the horizon, and the crickets are already warming up their evening concert. It’s only day one of your mission to return Trish to the boss, and you’ve already had the dubious pleasure of crossing paths with three stand users. Fortunately, this vineyard is tucked away in a secret little spot. You’re almost certain you’re safe here—at least for tonight.

You and Mista are lounging in the bed of the vineyard’s tractor-trailer, a few blankets thrown over the cold, unyielding metal to make it a bit more bearable. Normally, you'd enjoy a little solitude, but Mista has that irresistible knack for making everything more... entertaining. Not to mention, you're not entirely sure how you could've avoided including him. He ran into you just as you were making sure everyone had already settled into their rooms—arms full of a radio, a lighter, weed, and rolling papers—blankets slung over your shoulders. It doesn’t bother you, though. Not one bit.

You pull your Zippo from your pocket, flicking it open with a practiced hand. The flame dances to life, casting a soft glow over both your faces as it lights up the end of your blunts. A small twinge of guilt bubbles up—after all, Bucciarati’s never been one to condone anything of the sort, and you respect him far too much to take that lightly. But… well, Bucciarati isn’t here right now, and you could really use a little something to take the edge off.

With a soft click, the play button on your Discman springs to life, followed by the familiar whir of the mechanism. Then, Radiohead’s sweet melodies swirl through the air. You lean back against the trailer wall, a peaceful smile settling across your face as you exhale a plume of smoke, letting it mingle with the night air. The soft hum of music blends with the crickets’ symphony and the gentle rustling of grass, and for just a moment, everything feels perfectly still, perfectly... right.
