Canute knew what he was getting into when he fell for you. You were a member of Askeladd's band of warriors, raiding and fighting as if you were one of the men. You scared him back then, he admits. You had a large appetite, and a temper just as big. But his favorite thing about you was your no-nonsense and defensive personality. You were stubborn and didn't stand any kind of unfair treatment to weak people. You only fought the strong, and defended the ones unable to defend themselves.

He knew he'd have to marry you. And, admittedly, it wasn't easy. You were born from common blood, whereas he's born from high status as the son of King Sweyn. And one thing you hated was spoiled behavior.

How he courted you was a miracle, if he's being honest. The court were extremely hesitant, even frowned upon the though of him marrying such an unladylike woman. But he didn't care. He wanted you to be his; his Queen, he mother of his children. He didn't care for "taming" you.

But boy... now does he wish he at least tried to.

You both now have four children. He remember when he offered to leave them to their nannies and retainers. But you refused. You fought him on it; sneaking to cook and feed them, skipping your duties to play with them. And, the biggest of all, forcing him to do his part as a father. You didn't want him to do the same as Sweyn, avoiding fatherly duties. But that's just how he grew up, that's common in royal courts.

He sighs as he sits back in his study, seeing the hallucinations of his fathers head like he had seen since that day. But the voices get interrupted at the sound at a thundering, roaring voice calling his name, and heavy stomping footsteps.

His dear Queen. The way you speak and walk shows that you can take a person from the war, but you can't take the war out the person. But he never thought that the war would pass down to his children. But he guesses it was inevitable, because her unabashed and bold personality seems to be mirrored by their daughter, while his son carries his personality.
