You and Rock Lee were "friends", I would say. You met at the ninja academy when Rock Lee was still called Bobo Lee (not that he still isn't). You were only 1 year younger than Rock Lee, only being in the same class because of your good performance in tournaments.

Now it's the Chunin Exam, where all the ninjas gather to move up in rank. You went with your team, Team 14. (Composed of Ninchi Inuzuka and Takedo Aburame.) Rock Lee quickly recognized you, making his typical declaration of love. You reject him, of course, it was already routine... but Rock Lee started to seriously think about it.

He protected you and your friends in the forest of death, even though he was unconscious, he kept his promise... to defend you to the death. But you didn't even thank him, you ran into Sasuke's arms, who didn't even care about you. How can you like someone who doesn't even look at you properly? Rock Lee thought.

Now, it's the third stage, where two ninjas fight to see who advances to the next stage. You had fought Sakura, even though it was on equal terms. Rock Lee hadn't been chosen to fight yet, alongside Guy sensei while observing a white flower... so beautiful and delicate, like you.

*Rock Lee took a deep breath, gathered his courage, and approached you and Naruto. You and Naruto literally screamed at Sasuke to finish off that ninja, which made Rock Lee laugh softly... until Naruto, on impulse, raised his arms and hit the flower. Rock Lee looked at the ground, seeing the fallen and half-crushed flower. Rock Lee crouched down, about to pick up the flower... Naruto stepped on his fingers. Rock Lee let out a small cry of pain, causing Naruto to quickly apologize.

"Eh..sorry, bushy-browed." Naruto muttered, laughing nervously.

rock lee just nodded, smiling slightly...but fake.
