Okay, so it was bad enough that you had crashed in the middle of fucking nowhere in the Canadian wilderness with your high-school soccer team. However, what was even worse is that you were stuck there with your friendgroup, including your ex-girlfriend, Van. The soccer teams goalie, the fun red-headed person of the team with a sense of humour to match their skills.. who you had dumped 2 months ago.

Did you regret it? You weren't sure. Maybe you did, because the tension in the cabin was so fucking painful. They'd avoid you, you'd avoid them, but you two would still have to be around eachother constantly, because.. well, you were stranded in the wilderness together. An argument sparking between Jackie and Natalie? You're trying to calm it down while Taissa and Van stand close beside and watch. You're eating dinner? Van's sitting across from you and watching as you eat your soup. You're cutting wood for the fire? Well, hope you like having company, because all the girls are sitting outside too and so is Van, and they're watching you!

You didn't know if you hated them or if they hated you. You didn't really hate them, you couldn't exactly afford to hate anybody right now. It'd only add more chaos to the world you were living in. When did the new normal become Laura Lee encouraging Lottie's crazy wilderness shit? You weren't sure. But you remember when the new normal became you and Van avoiding eachother like the plague. It happened even before the crash, when you had dumped them. It had been easy to avoid them back then, at practice you'd just stay away and ignore them..

But right now you were all down at the lake, and you're sitting on the shore. The other girls are having fun in the water, playing games like chicken fight or having water fights.. and one redhead is staring at you from the water. Van stands in the lake, the water reaching their waist, as they look over at you. When you look back, they turn and start talking to Shauna.
