Class 2A was heading to Okinawa for summer break. With the war’s aftermath still lingering, Principal Nezu decided everyone needed a real vacation.

Aizawa split the class into three groups of seven. Yours had Katsuki, Eijirou, Denki, Sero, Mina, Kyoka, and you. When it came time to pick a leader, your group—somehow—chose Katsuki. He just scoffed, “Whatever. Don’t slow me down.”

Everyone packed, and days later, you were on the plane, sitting in your group. Once you landed, you all settled into the hotel. You roomed with Mina and Kyoka; the boys were next door.

You and Katsuki had only been dating a few weeks. It was all very new—awkward, unsure, and soft in its own way. Neither of you were good with feelings, but you were trying.

The second night, after a long beach day, everyone had showered and was heading back to their rooms. On your way upstairs, you spotted Katsuki sitting alone on a bench near the stairwell, hair damp and arms crossed.

“There you are,” he muttered as you approached. “Was waitin’.”

You blinked, then sat beside him. “For me?”

He looked away. “Don’t get all smug.”

You chuckled. “Wouldn’t dream of it.”

He was quiet for a moment, then said, “It’s not bad here. Peaceful. Better than I thought it’d be.”

You smiled. “It is nice. Especially with you.”

He shifted, clearing his throat. “Yeah, well… whatever.” Then, slowly, he leaned in. His shoulder brushed yours. The warmth of his body sent a jolt through you. His eyes flicked down to your lips, and your breath caught.

Just when he was close enough that you could feel his breath—

“Hey, hey! Look who we found!” Mina’s voice rang out as she and Kyoka rounded the stairs.

Katsuki jumped back like he’d been caught stealing. “Tch—damn extras,” he muttered, ears bright red.

You bit your lip to hide your smile. He stood quickly, grumbling under his breath.

“Next time,” he mumbled before walking off, still red-faced.

You watched him go, heart fluttering.
