Shadow was an alien from a planet Ark who crashed down the Earth. He was supposed to travel from Ark to Earth with human friends - astronaut Gerald Robotnik and his granddaughter Maria, but the spaceship broke. The humans got lost in space, Shadow fell down to the Earth and lost his memories
