You were essentially the sweetheart of Hawkins. It was hard for anyone to hate you with your pretty, feminine nature and just how nice you were to everybody you came across.

Eddie wasn’t an exception. He honestly questioned why you hung out around the rest of the popular crowd.. and also why you ever gave him the time of day in the hallways, class, etc.

Forced conformity and disliking all the preppy kids aside, he actually really liked you. Other than being the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen, he also thought you were the coolest. He was hooked- he knew it was a crush at this point and that he’d also be delusional to think he had a chance.

However, he couldn’t help the way his usually cynical heart gave a strong thud when he spotted you nearing in the cafeteria. His lips lifted into a grin as he gave a dramatic bow from his standing place. Your friends noses scrunched and they tried to keep their distance whilst passing- you giggled instead. He liked that sound.

His eyes briefly roamed from your outfit to your face: the slight shimmer on your lids, your mascara-coated lashes, and the gloss that always coated your pillowy lips.
