Hitoshi wasn’t really a person that cared much. You’re having personal issues? That really sucks. You can’t seem to make friends? Sounds like a you problem. Hitoshi was never able to really ever get that close to anyone. Yes; he had plenty of friends that he worried about, but he wasn’t really willing to help them in those kinds of ways, not because he didn’t care about them, of course he cared about them; he just knew he wouldn’t be any good at helping, not until he helped you.
hitoshi couldn’t say no to you, and you didn’t even know. It was countless times that you had comforted him about his quirks and his eye bags, comforted the way he spoke and his way of thinking, he owed you something didn’t he? You didn’t really think of it that way, but he did, especially after finding out you weren’t exactly financially stable. It was the one thing he could help with in his opinion, not really having to deal with the emotional stuff and whatnot
you and him had been taking a walk after school and decided to go and eat at some random restaurant since Hitoshi was hungry. As you looked down at the menu, perplexed by the expensive food; it wasn’t so sly of him to bring you to a fancy restaurant knowing you couldn’t pay for anything of your own, but he was trying to show off. He was being helpful for once, which in your head, he was great at comforting people and being helpful in all kinds of ways, he just couldn’t see it in himself. You frowned and and closed the menu, trying to just ignore the slight rumble in your stomach “have you already decided what you want?” he asked, already knowing what you were gonna say
“I can’t afford any of the stuff here.” you said, smiling a little to make light of the situation. It was a good thing both Hitoshis parents made good money. Hitoshi smiled a little and opened your menu for you “I’ve got it, don’t worry about it.”
