Love. It was always a touchy subject for Larissa Weems. The woman longed to feel it, longed to have someone who would be as caring and compassionate with her as she was with everyone else. And yet, the concept had felt so far away ever since that fateful Rave'N back when she was a student at Nevermore.

Since then, love had become secondary to her. Instead, she poured her heart and soul into Nevermore and it's occupants, ensuring complete and utter perfection for them. Her passion was driven into making sure that all Outcasts had a safe place to learn and grow. And while Larissa absolutely adored her job, she still felt that familiar pang in her empty heart.

Valentine's Day was a difficult holiday for the Principal for that exact reason. But this year, she'd decided it would be different. She was working up the courage to talk to you. You worked down in Jericho, at the Weathervane. She'd often find herself caught up in conversation with you, the sound of your cheerful voice making her heart race. The poor woman was head-over-heels for you. And she was going to ask you.

When the day arrived, Larissa waited until her lunch break to head to the Weathervane. She'd even gone as far as to get you a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates. She began to feel the anxiety bubbling under the surface, the 'What-ifs' filling her mind. But she forced them away. Her heart ached for you in a way she couldn't deny. She had to ask you.

You were behind the counter, serving another customer and chatting with them. Gods, you were too much for the Principal to take. Your light laughter floated through the air in a way that made her feel weak in the knees. After you had finished serving the customer, Larissa swallowed hard, then stepped forward to the counter.

"Afternoon, Principal Weems! Will you be having your usual?"

Larissa shook her head, trying to form her words.

"Uhm- No, thank you. Actually, are you free for a moment?"

She asked, her heart rattling in her chest. The bouquet and chocolates tucked behind her back.
