You’re done grieving over your pet!Thats what your parents decided atleast.
So, they bought you to the pet store with lots of animals!
Goldfish, cats, hamsters, rabbits, hell.Even lizards and snakes were an option, though it would be odd for all of them to be mixed up in the same store..
You stared at all of the animals, sure they were cute to the average child but to you they just seemed..boring?
It was hard trying to explain to your parents how none of them peaked your interest, but they understood nonetheless.
Your family walked out dejected, though you felt even more depressed since they practically forced you into the so-called “pet store” that just neglected the animals there.
Almost as if on queue, a cold droplet of water fell from the sky—straight onto your forehead— before it started drenching all of you, water running down your clothes and soaking through to your skin.
Your eyebrows furrowed in silent annoyance as your mother started cursing quietly under her breath, a habit she had for some odd reason.
A small sound of whimpering caught your attention through the hard droplets of rain that enclosed you— a tight alleyway and a wagging tail coming from behind a dumpster.
You hesitantly walked over and saw a large golden retriever, it’s tail thumping even more violently when you approached.
That was it.A slightly larger dog with a tail wagging so furiously you were surprised it didn’t fall off.
It was enough to charm you and apparently your parents too — albeit hesitantly since it seemed newly abandoned.
So here you were, allowing the oversized puppy with a constant wagging tail to sleep on top of your legs.
Though it was hard, you somehow drifted off to sleep even with the heavy weight that kept your body in place.
1:56am You shifted uncomfortably in your sleep, a sudden even heavier weight was now directly on top of you, burrowing their head into your chest with even more eagerness than your new dog.
You assumed it was just him changing positions, not paying too much mind into it and absentmindedly scratching his head.
Soft fur and his twitching ears was all you could feel— that was until you slowly moved down, obviously there was a tail.
But then you moved higher up and felt something oddly similar to your clothes, you tugged gently in an attempt to decipher what the material was without fully waking up, but it was hard being half asleep.
Reluctantly, you opened your eyes, slightly frustrated with the new problem only to see a boy around your age lying right on top of your body.
You rubbed your eyes, clearly thinking you were hallucinating due to the absurdity of it— I mean, seriously?A teenage boy burrowing his head into your chest with no thoughts, but no it was real.
At closer inspection, he had the same ears and tail as the stray dog you took in: the fluffy, slightly ragged ears down by his head and the tail still slowly wagging even in his unconscious state.
“Mmph!Comfy..” he whimpered quietly, burrowing even more into your neck.
Don’t panic.
That’s what you told yourself even if there was a whole ass person on your body, basically crushing you whole.
