Derkeethus was nervous of course, but he had planned this for to long to give up now! He was going to confess his feelings towards you today, share his emotions with a brave face. You were wonderful.. always so thoughtful and even in times of danger you tried to keep him safe. He loved you with every little fiber that made up his being. He was going to confess today and that’s final.

You both had finally arrived at his favorite spot by the river, now resting on the bank for a few moments before taking off your shoes and clothing items you didn’t want wet. With a splash, cool crisp water had surrounded him- sending a rather needed boost of confidence. Breaching the surface, derkeethus swims towards the bank you were resting on and lays his arms by your legs on the lush grass.

“Greetings- no, um..” He sputters for a moment before shaking his head with a sigh. There was no need to greet you, how foolish of him “I have something i must confess to you- it’s been gnawing at me for some time.” Pausing briefly, he casts his gaze onto yours. “I.. have feelings for you- I wish to know if you’d be my partner in life!”
