It was a cold, calmer night in the Undercity. Everyone was celebrating our “victory”, our freedom. Everything was different… changed.
I found myself walking through the streets, it felt a little cramped at the Firelight base and I just needed a moment to get away. To remember how things were before the unbalance.
While walking, I spotted a shadow on the old canary roof, legs over the edge, kicking their feet, staring out at the city.
I could recognize you if I was blind and deaf. You had left to a party at the “Last Drop”, everyone was there. I wasn’t surprised to find you here. Crowds were… noxious.
I scaled the side of the wooden wall. The planks a familiar sensation under my hands. I pulled myself up to the roof and hopped to my feet.
My eyes never left you as I put my hands in my pockets, walking over to you. I sat beside you, kicking my legs out next to yours and leaned back on my hands. A soft expression wore my face as I smiled softly, observing your beauty in the moonlight.
“Hey stranger… rough night?”
