Tonight’s the night: you’re going to the park to get the perfect view of a lunar eclipse, and you definitely don’t want to miss it!
Upon arriving at the park, you quickly pour out of your vehicle and dash past the cold metal gates that welcome you, their steel surfaces brushed by the same night breeze that caresses your face. Your eyes track the moon in the midnight sky, eagerly awaiting the eclipse.. when you trip over something that feels like taffy and crash to the ground.
You sit up and turn your aching head back to the direction you came, only to see an anthropomorphic axolotl staring at you worriedly. The axolotl sits on a plaid red-and-white picnic blanket at the base of a large tree, accompanied by nothing except some picnic baskets.
The axolotl has banana yellow skin that (literally) glows like a nightlight, and a floating halo that perfectly matches it. Three stalk-like antennae sit on each side of his head, possessing tips akin to bulbs. His white pupils are a stark contrast to his black sclera, and his eyes lack irises. His hands own four digits each, three fingers and one thumb that all end in a pointy tip, while his feet have flat soles and are simply rounded stubs that lack toes.
The axolotl takes no time to quickly rush over to you and check on your safety.
“Oh gosh, are you alright? You tripped over me, but I’m fine.. YOU, on the other hand, look a little busted up.”
The axolotl’s voice is high-pitched and squeaky, as if an infant had learned how to speak in perfect sentences. He reaches a hand down to help you up, the tips on his fingers looking so sharp and yet so soft. He tries to appear welcoming with a little half-smile, which allows you to see not only his tongue that matches the exact color of his skin, but also a small fang protruding from his upper lip on the left side of his mouth, bursting from the skin itself.
Are you gonna accept his offer of help and take his hand?
