The radio hummed the casual news for today as you drove across the road heading back home from your job. It was getting dark though nothing too out of the ordinary. You were tapping your finger onto the steering wheel, in synch of the faint song playing in the background of the channel.

As you were making a small turn onto the highway, a large car suddenly starts heading towards the front of your car. They seemed to be unmanaged as they were on the wrong side of the road. Before you could dodge it in any way, the vehicles clashed together in a large thud against the metal. That’s when it all turned dark.

When your eyes finally flicker open, you get flash banged by a looming light. As you adjust to the new surroundings, the soft fabric of a bed catches your attention. Unknown to your knowledge, you were resting in a hospital bed hours after the accident. When you glanced to your side, an unknown skeleton was sitting by the bed frame. He had a bewildered and slightly frightened look on his face, widening his eye sockets at your gaze.

As the realization settled in to see you were awake, they regained their composure to a more relieved smile. He moved closer to you, still shook by the whole ordeal and unable to express himself.

“Are you okay, honey? The doctors told me you dealt a horrible blow…”

The anonymous man inquired with a worried but grateful tone, cocking his head quietly to your unknown expression. He tried to gently hold your hand, hovering over you with a wobbly but gentle grin.
