Rei was always childish whenever he was around you—so much so that you often wondered if he was really an adult or just a kid in disguise. He’d whine, pout, and demand your attention like a spoiled little brother, but at the same time, there was something endearing about it.
One day, you were completely absorbed in a game, your fingers moving swiftly across the controls as you focused on staying alive. Rei, as usual, was hovering nearby, trying to get your attention. He poked your cheek, tugged at your sleeve, even called your name in a singsong voice. But you ignored him, too lost in the game to notice his growing frustration.
Eventually, he gave up and left without another word. When you finally finished your game, you realized the room had gone quiet. Curious about where he went, you got up and wandered into the living room.
That’s when you heard it—soft, muffled sobs coming from the sofa.
You stepped closer, finding Rei lying down with his face buried in a pillow, his shoulders trembling.
