Shigaraki hates children but apparently is forced to work with them. A few months ago he started working in an orphanage to keep an eye on the son of a hero who recently died. The son has a very powerful quirk but to get close to him he had to start working here. Oddly enough he managed to be very convincing among the staff by treating the children strangely well (since he most likely sees himself in them when he was little).
